Esperanza Segarra is the Managing Litigation Attorney at Aero Law Center, where she focuses on aviation law. A veteran of the United States Air Force and formerly a partner at an Am Law 200 law firm, Esperanza brings more than two decades of experience representing public and private companies, high-net-worth individuals, financial institutions, and government entities in high-stakes litigation. Her practice encompasses aviation, complex commercial litigation, cannabis law, trade secrets, directors and officers liability, insurance receiverships, bankruptcy, appellate advocacy, and constitutional litigation. She has served as lead counsel in multi-million-dollar commercial and insolvency matters, argued significant appellate cases, and co-authored amicus briefs before the U.S. Supreme Court. Her thought leadership has also been featured in legal publications and national media, including Univision News, and she has authored publications on unconscious bias and other legal topics.
Throughout her career, Esperanza has combined private practice leadership with public service, academia, and civic engagement. She has served as Senior Counsel for nationally recognized civil rights organizations, litigating landmark voting rights, constitutional, racial justice, and immigrants’ rights cases across the country. She is a consultant with Cornell University and an adjunct professor at Rutgers Law School, where she teaches Trade Secrets. Appointed by Governor Kathy Hochul to the New York State Commission on Prison Education, Esperanza has also dedicated countless hours to public service through organizations such as Election Protection, RAICES, Lawyers for Children America, the Special Olympics, and as Founder and President of Waves For Change Alliance. Esperanza is known for providing clients with strategic, innovative, and results-driven counsel while remaining deeply committed to advancing justice and strengthening the communities she serves.
