Richard F. DeVall

Attorney
Richard DeVall brings nearly four decades of courtroom and appellate experience to Aero Law Center. A former state prosecutor, public defender, city attorney, and assistant counsel to the New York State Senate, he has tried over 300 cases across civil, criminal, and family courts. His legal background spans construction defect litigation, product liability, land use disputes, and high-profile criminal defense, including the defense of a client profiled on America’s Most Wanted.
Richard has argued more than a dozen cases before appellate courts, with numerous published decisions. He notably prevailed in a landmark zoning dispute in City of Saratoga Springs v. Zoning Board of Appeals of the Town of Wilton—a case that reshaped land-use law in New York.
Admitted in New York, Florida, and Michigan, Richard also served as lead counsel in a $10 million public contracting dispute on behalf of the City of Cape Coral, Florida. Outside the courtroom, he is a recognized expert in distillery law, a self-taught master distiller, and former owner of Saratoga Distilleries Inc.
He holds a J.D. from Albany Law School and a B.A., cum laude, from Union College. A classically trained violinist and former orchestra conductor, Richard is also licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard to charter sloops and catamarans.
